SECCO consists of an enthusiastic group of people, among which you can find designers, producers, and material collectors. The network is based on criteria that unites makers and users: innovation, quality, cooperation and sustainability.

SECCO´S MISSION AND PHILOSOPHY

SECCO was born from the need to link innovative designers, producers, material collectors and recyclers. The result is a growing professional and international network, that gives value to everyone involved. The network is composed of an enthusiastic group of people. It is based on criteria that unite makers and users; innovation, quality, cooperation and sustainability. We give a new purpose to post-consumer and industrial waste material by transforming it into funky high quality design products.

The ideas come to life by incorporating the existing qualities of the waste material. SECCO acts as a platform for an international network of committed designers who provide us with design solutions. Together we create products that are produced in a sustainable way and are made to last .

Most of SECCO's customers are urban, educated and design-conscious people with a strong interest in innovation and environmental
issues. In addition to its own flagship store in the center of Helsinki, SECCO products are also sold through our global retailer network.

SECCO LABORATORY
The SECCO workshop was established in spring 2002 in Petäjävesi and moved 2006 to Jyväskylä, Central Finland. There young professionals from the field of crafts and industrial design work and innovate. In our laboratory materials and production methods are tested in various ways. It is an open ground for experimenting with ideas.

Our raw materials are aquired from various waste collection and recycling companies. Many of these are social enterprises, who strive to employ long-term unemployed, people with disabilities or immigrants. They also participate in our product development and further processing of the material. Every stage of the production is carried out in the most
sustainable way possible from an ecological and quality point of view. Our products are mostly handmade.
